The Assistant Director Fine Arts will assist in the administration of the Fine Arts Department and manage instructional Fine Arts programs.
Supervise campus Fine Arts program areas to ensure the delivery of a rigorous and aligned curriculum.
Advocate for and promote community engagement in campus Fine Arts program areas.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Supervise district Fine Arts program areas to ensure the delivery of a rigorous and aligned curriculum Provide 7-12 Fine Arts teachers with the knowledge and skills to deliver the written, taught, and assessed curriculum effectively, thereby improving student achievement and program retention Plan, develop, execute, and facilitate professional learning activities for Fine Arts teachers Perform administrative and supervisory work involved in designing, developing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and revising Fine Arts curriculum Advise teachers and other district personnel in the selection, use, and purchase of instructional materials and equipment related to specific Fine Arts program areas Collaborate with others to ensure the continuous improvement of the campus Fine Arts programs Provide recommendations for improvements to Fine Arts program areas as they relate to student needs Participate in state, local, and campus meetings and workshops pertaining to assigned responsibilities Remain current on educational trends and practices as they relate to education in general and more specifically to the Fine Arts Advocate for and promote community engagement in campus Fine Arts program areas Organize and implements specific competitions and productions which are sponsored for campus-wide involvement in specific Fine Arts program areas Assist with articulating the campuses and Departments mission, vision, and values as they relate to Fine Arts programs Solicit the support of the community at-large in the achievement of the campuses and Departments goals Perform administrative and supervisory duties to ensure the smooth operation of the Fine Arts Department and campus Fine Arts programs Assist the Director of Fine Arts with administrative and supervisory tasks Carries out supervisory responsibilities for the Fine Arts Department in accordance with the campuses policies and applicable laws Create a Fine Arts applicant pools for campus principals Assist in the process of recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring and training assigned staff Plan, assign, and direct work for the Fine Arts program Conduct performance appraisals of assigned staff Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts or related field Preferred Requirements:
Masters degree in Fine Arts or related field Valid NC Teaching Certificate with Fine Arts background At least 5 years' experience in a 7-12 environment providing fine arts supervision Job Type:
